Bria’s #workitout100 Story

My #workitout100 transformation story is a bit different from the ones I have had the pleasure of reading. My journey began in 2008 when I hit my highest weight of 326 pounds and realized I was slowly digging my own grave. I could no longer do anything physical without needing to sit down for long periods of time and I was on the verge of becoming diabetic. I took my dream vacation in October of 2008 to Disney World and I was not able to fit in the airplane seat or enjoy the rides because of my size. As soon as I returned home I started trying every fad diet I could from Jenny Craig to Atkins and everything in between.

Fast forward to 2010, I became pregnant with my daughter and gained back everything I had lost the previous year. When my daughter was born I was diagnosed with a case of Pancreatitis that should have killed me but alas here I am. All of the sudden I had to change my entire life just to stay alive for my daughter, without a fully functioning pancreas. I lost 130 pounds these past 4 years but not until I found the #workitout100 challenge did I start exercising on a regular basis.

I came across the hash-tag workitout100 65 weeks ago and started my first challenge that day. It was exactly what I had been looking for! I longed for a community of regular people with busy lives that would hold me accountable and I found it. I have met such incredible people through this challenge, people from across the world that are on the same journey as me. I have learned I love yoga and TRX and I still suck at running. I have learned my body really can workout 100 days in a row and I do have muscles under the chubbies! I have completed 2 rounds of this challenge and I’m already planning my 3rd round soon.

I’m so thankful for this challenge because it really has showed me what I am capable of. 100 days was my jumping off point and I workout on a regular basis now but I will always be thankful for the encouragement I received in the beginning because it’s truly what kept me going. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
