Hello all! It’s Sunday, which means we’re bringing you a new recipe idea to try for the week. Salad in a jar is an amazing idea. I have been wanting to try this for a few months now but just continued using my plastic Tupperware (and continued to losing caps, warping the plastic in the dishwasher and leaving my tupperware at work or losing it all together). I stumbled upon the salad in a mason jar idea and thought I would love to give it a whirl. I searched around online for prices of Mason Jars and found the best deal at Cub Foods (12- 32oz jars for $9.99). I took the dive and bought the jars.
The best part about these salads is that you can jam-pack them with any meat, fruit, veggies, cheese, and nuts that you want (given that the jar still closes- haha). I decided to start pretty basic this week:
Mixed Greens (Spinach, Arugula and Iceberg)
Shredded Chicken Breast
After doing some research online, there is a method to packing your salad in the jar: (Layer 2 and 3 can also be fruit).
